Run Epson Printing Utility to make sure your printer is recognized (for Windows 7 & Vista only, the Epson Utility will automatically appear when the Epson Toolkit starts). 4. Wait until the printer has been "Detected" and then open EPSON_UTILITY.exe in the Epson Reset Toolkit folder. This tool will automatically detect whether or not your printer supports a reset and present you with a menu in which you can choose whether to proceed with a reset. 5. Wait for epsontoolkit_logging_outputs to be generated in the folder where EPSON_UTILITY. exe resides. This is the output you will read when using Update-PrinterFirmware.ps1 or Update-PrinterFirmware.cmd - which can be used to update your printer's firmware. 6. Click the "Reset" button in EPSON_UTILITY.exe to reset your Epson Printers, once you've done this the Epson Utility will close and your printer(s) will be restarted automatically by Windows (note that it's important that you wait 5+ seconds after clicking the "Reset" button before unplugging your USB cable). 7.
