System Monitor (Sysmon) is a Windows system service and devicedriver that, once installed on a system, remains resident across systemreboots to monitor and log system activity to the Windows event log. Itprovides detailed information about process creations, networkconnections, and changes to file creation time. By collecting the eventsit generates usingWindows Event CollectionorSIEMagents and subsequently analyzing them, you can identify malicious oranomalous activity and understand how intruders and malware operate onyour network.


The network connection event logs TCP/UDP connections on the machine. Itis disabled by default. Each connection is linked to a process throughthe ProcessId and ProcessGuid fields. The event also contains the sourceand destination host names IP addresses, port numbers and IPv6 status.

Event filtering allows you to filter generated events. In many casesevents can be noisy and gathering everything is not possible. Forexample, you might be interested in network connections only for acertain process, but not all of them. You can filter the output on thehost reducing the data to collect.

in your case looking at the model of HBAs, you are using Fibre Channel as a protocol to connect to your storage so the iSCIS is basically encapsulated on FC Frame.On the Storage side they probably need to configure the zoning (on the FC Switch) and the masking (on the Storage Box)to let your hosts see the LUNs.The WWN is similar to a MAC Address, it's unique and you need to have it in order to configure the storage in FC, that from what I see it's your case.In these case it's normal that you see them on storage because they are not cards for network purposes but storage HBAs.Let me know if now is more clear or you need further informations


In vSphere 7.0, TLS 1.2 is enabled by default. TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are disabled by default. If you upgrade vCenter Server to 7.0 and that vCenter Server instance connects to ESXi hosts, other vCenter Server instances, or other services, you might encounter communication problems.


To resolve this issue, you can use the TLS Configurator utility to enable older versions of the protocol temporarily on 7.0 systems. You can then disable the older less secure versions after all connections use TLS 1.2. For information, see Managing TLS Protocol Configuration with the TLS Configurator Utility.


In vSphere 7.0, the ESXi built-in VNC server has been removed. Users will no longer be able to connect to a virtual machine using a VNC client by setting the RemoteDisplay.vnc.enable configure to be true. Instead, users should use the VM Console via the vSphere Client, the ESXi Host Client, or the VMware Remote Console, to connect virtual machines. Customers desiring VNC access to a VM should use the VirtualMachine.AcquireTicket("webmks") API, which offers a VNC-over-websocket connection. When you remediate ESXi hosts by using a host profile, network settings might fail to apply due to a logic fault in the check of the uplink number of uplink ports that are configured for the default teaming policy. If the uplink number check returns 0 while applying a host profile, the task fails. As a result, ESXi hosts lose connectivity after reboot.


In vSphere systems of version 7.0 Update 2 and later, where VMkernel network adapters are connected to multiple TCP/IP stacks, after ESX hosts reboot, some of the adapters might not be restored. In the vSphere client, when you navigate to Host > Configure > VMkernel Adapters, you see a message such as No items found. If you run the ESXCLI commands localcli network ip interface list or esxcfg-vmknic -l, you see the error Unable to get node: Not Found. In the hostd.log reports, you see the same error.


After updating ESXi to 7.0 Update 3 or later, hosts might disconnect from vCenter Server and when you try to reconnect a host by using the vSphere Client, you see an error such as A general system error occurred: Timed out waiting for vpxa to start.. The VPXA service also fails to start when you use the command /etc/init.d/vpxa start. The issue affects environments with RAIDs that contain more than 15 physical devices. The lsuv2-lsiv2-drivers-plugin can manage up to 15 physical disks and RAIDs with more devices cause an overflow that prevents VPXA from starting.


In vSphere systems where VMkernel network adapters are connected to multiple TCP/IP stacks, after ESX hosts reboot, some of the adapters might not be restored. In the vSphere client, when you navigate to Host > Configure > VMkernel Adapters, you see a message such as No items found. If you run the ESXCLI commands localcli network ip interface list or esxcfg-vmknic -l, you see the error Unable to get node: Not Found. In the hostd.log reports, you see the same error.


In some environments, if you set link speed to auto-negotiation for network adapters by using the command esxcli network nic set -a -n vmmicx, the devices might fail and reboot does not recover connectivity. The issue is specific to a combination of some Intel X710/X722 network adapters, a SFP+ module and a physical switch, where auto-negotiate speed/duplex scenario is not supported.


Workaround: You can hot-remove and hot-add the affected Ethernet NICs of the VM to restore traffic. On Linux guest operating systems, restarting the network might also resolve the issue. If these workarounds have no effect, you can reboot the VM to restore network connectivity.


In earlier releases of vCenter Server you could configure independent proxy settings for vCenter Server and vSphere Update Manager. After an upgrade to vSphere 7.0, vSphere Update Manager service becomes part of the vSphere Lifecycle Manager service. For the vSphere Lifecycle Manager service, the proxy settings are configured from the vCenter Server appliance settings. If you had configured Update Manager to download patch updates from the Internet through a proxy server but the vCenter Server appliance had no proxy setting configuration, after a vCenter Server upgrade to version 7.0, the vSphere Lifecycle Manager fails to connect to the VMware depot and is unable to download patches or updates.


If you trigger QLogic 578xx NIC iSCSI connection or disconnection frequently in a short time, the server might fail due to an issue with the qfle3 driver. This is caused by a known defect in the device's firmware.


In Broadcom NVMe over FC environment, ESXi might fail during driver unload or controller disconnect operation and display an error message such as: @BlueScreen: #PF Exception 14 in world 2098707:vmknvmeGener IP 0x4200225021cc addr 0x19


If you automate the firewall configuration in an environment that includes multiple ESXi hosts, and run the ESXCLI command esxcli network firewall unload that destroys filters and unloads the firewall module, the hostd service fails and ESXi hosts lose connectivity.


If you develop vSphere applications that use such libraries or include applications that rely on such libraries in your vSphere stack, you might experience connection issues when these libraries send HTTP requests to VMOMI.
