Posted by Chris Creswell - 10 Aug 01:50AM Hide picture So for no apparent reason Sibelius has started popping, cracking, stuttering, etc during playback. Files that were playing back clearly before are now doing it also. I've tried restarting the computer, the program, etc. I'm only using 6 essential sounds. Marching Band scores. Geez. I'm on a Mac OS 10.7.4, 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB of ram. Should be plenty of computer to run this. Any ideas? My solution is to 1. repair the registry; 2. thoroughly defrag the drive containing the samples. Usually, I have to do both, once a month or so, depending on how much I'm using the sounds. I've found that changing the buffer size to a larger value and then changing it back to my normal setting of 512 usually fixes it for a while. Playback is disasterously corrupted until I go into Audio Engine Options and change a setting (then put it straight back where it was). Restarting Sibelius doesn't help.As I can get all the playback I need on this machine without ASIO, I've ducked out of the issue by choosing the DS driver. Back to top Allthreads
